Hi...tonight my daughter fell face first into our hardwood floors and hit one of her front teeth. Of course she cried, but when I calmed her down a little I looked at them and noticed that she was bleeding around the tooth (along the gumline). It didn't seem to be loose, but I am freaking out. At first, I was sure she lost it, but thank goodness she didn't. The bleeding seemed to stop after a couple of minutes, but when she was brushing her teeth before bed, it started to bleed again (it had happened about 20 min. before bedtime). It wasn't gushing blood, it looked like if you bled from flossing or something. Has this happened to anyone else??? |

We were at the park about a month ago with my son and he ran over to this big plastic swing that some bigger boys were rough housing on and he ran right into it while it was swinging and it hit him right in the mouth, he had a fat lip and it was bleeding around a few of his bottom teeth. I could see a little bit of a cut or something around those teeth and I was worried that it was going to damage those teeth, he had a checkup that same week and I had the Dr look at it, luckily she said his lip had gotten the worse of it, he is all healed now it only took about a week and the day it happened he cried harder because he thought we were leaving when we whent to the car to get something to stop the bleeding. I would have your pedi look at it definitely if you are concerned or the dentist. |

Hi! my name is Karolyn and I am a registered Dental Assistant for the last ten years. I have had the same problem with my three yr. old. First off how old is your daughter. If it was her permanent teeth I would be more concerned. But I would still take her to a dentist. They can take an x-ray to she is the teeth have moved and if it damaged the teeth. They may want follow up appts. to make sure there are no other problems that don't show up until later. I would also ask for a intra-oral camera picture. It's a cool camera they put in the mouth ( it doesn't hurt), it just shows them if there are any fractures in the teeth. Don't worry I am sure she is fine but it is better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck! |
