My two sons are total addicts. Our house is a shrine to Thomas and friends. My older son learned his numbers and colors by first learning the names of all the trains. Do they all look alike to you? Not to him. He has a mental inventory in his head of all the trains we have and identifies new ones immediately. I feed the addiction, and I don't know why. Now my #2 is coming along, coming along with his passion for the trains. We've been to see Thomas in person twice. Then just the other day, on a crowded interstate, there was Thomas on the flat bed of a tractor trailor. Is it overdramatic to say that I can't imagine anything more miraculous happening?
How funny! My son is a total addict and learned his numbers and colors through the trains as well. He can't tell you his full name, but can sit down with a Thomas catolog and name pretty much all of the trains and which ones he has in his personal inventory. We've been to see Thomas twice, and plan to go again this spring. You are not being overdramatic at all with your highway miracle...My heart actually went pitter patter when I read that and felt envy of not experiencing it myself! Your boys must have freaked out! :)
you lovely ladies are really giving me hope. my son was diagnosed as developmentally delayed (not retarded, just taking his time). he loves thomas and i know he knows his colors but i sure hope he learns his numbers this way too.
