Age to teach ABC's
Bare with mem I'm new here on RT. I was trying to answer th e question about what age is best to start teaching ABC'S. I'm not sure if I'm in the right location. However, You start teaching soon as child can pronounce words. That may vary in age. Singing is ok, but I find that most kids don't identify the letters if you only sing them. It is great to point them out during a long drive to keep child from being bored on car rides. Kids are like sponges they absorb anything easily at the young age.

sarah just turned two in Jan.and she can already recognize the whole alphabet. Once she started learning them it took about two months and she could recognize all of them. we just did it as we played or if we were somwhere we would say them and point letters out. we also used flash cards which I think was the biggest help, and a book we got at the dollar store for 3 dollars. She loved it Everyday she would get the book out. She started by pointing to a letter when I asked her "where is ?" than a few months later I would ask "what is this letter?" Now we are working with numbers.
