My name is Jessica and I have an 8 month old daughter and I stay at home with her. I was wondering if anyone knew of any activities for mommys and babies in the local area. I'd really like to get out of the house and do some activities with her.

MOPS is a really nice mom's group. They have several in the area. I attend Mothers of Preschoolers in Lansing at Trinity church (dunkel/jolly) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Trinity_Mops/ http://www.mops.org/

Hi Jessica. I just wanted to let you know that Impression5 Science Center in Lansing has a wonderful room for children 0-4 years old. There are fantastic things like a huge water table, some slides, a loft, a little padded and enclosed area designed for those who aren't walking or moving around as much, a light table and so on. It is free for children and $5 for adults but if you buy a year membership as I did, the entire family can go anytime, as many times a week, for $55. This includes 8 guest passes too. It is a great deal and you do meet other kids and parents there. It has been a highlight of my 14 month old daughter's week. We try and go a couple if not 3 x a week. She loves it! Let me know if you decide to go and perhaps I can plan on being there during that time and introduce myself to you. They are open M-S 10-5 and Sund 1-5. Take care, Teresa
