I had to join this group because I was so irritated about the way people with children are being treated at stores!!!! Okay, first of all, I would never presume to tell anyone that they are bad parent b/c i am dealing with my own parenting crises. Second of all, I am sorry but children with special needs are ALLOWED to go out in public, okay????? That's ridiculous. Children are precious and at most, I might provide a sympathetic look to whoever is facing a child who is melting down in a public place, but considering that I am not in their position and I don't know what caused the meltdown in the first place, and sometimes, I am learning, that kids will melt down for NO CAUSE, that does not mean they are spoiled or bratty or whatever...especially if they are under the age of 3, when self control issues are not quite there. I rarely get mad but i am so pissed so for everyone who stood up for themselves and thier children, WAY TO GO!!!!! |

I hope I never have to deal with that. I have noticed people/other customers trying to race to get in front of me when they notice I have a stroller though. I guess they think because I have a stroller I'm going to be moving slower. I don't know. Hello, it's not crutches! Then they have the nerve to stop in front of me!! One of these days, I swear, I'm just going to hit one of them. |

Oh yeah...and that just reminds me of the crazies that try to whip around your cart at the grocery store while your child is sitting in it when you have the right of way. People are so impatient these days. There was just a story on the news the other day about how more then 50% of the accidental deaths in the state of Indiana could have been prevented. Careless people just make me sick. |

Mom,
Actually, I forgot to mention that i was replying to your post--I read what you had written about your experience. I had read the previous posts in this group and that's why I got so upset. I actually don't have a special needs child but like i said, children are children, and whether or not they have special needs, they just do stuff in public places that we can't always control. Does that mean that no one should ever go out in public? I don't think so....I |
