Hi All! My name is Robin, and not only am I the wife of a musician, but I am one, too! Talk about insanity. I don't know if I qualify for this group, but I thought I'd stop by and take a look around. Thanks! Robin |

Thanks for joining. So, what kind of music do you and your husband play? That must be real rough with both of you guys being musicians and having a little one. |

Hi Linda! I am a classical musician, and my husband does avant garde, jazz and rock. Our schedules are actually really nice right now. He has a college job during the day, and I rehearse, play concerts or teach lessons in the evenings. So while we don't necessarily see each other a ton, we are able to take care of the baby w/o too much daycare.
How about you? What inspired you to create the group?

What inspired me to the join the group? Many reasons. For starters I would like to meet up with others that possibly have the same situation going on because I am tired of people "bashing"my husband for following his dreams because it's rough on the family. People are constantly trying to get me to leave him that it's ridiculous. Another reason would be that I am kinda lonely being a stay at home Mom (at the moment) because he is working, writing his album at the practice studio and then this summer he will be out on tour. Your careers sound real interesting? Are you in my area? My husband's in a touring deathmetal/grindcore band that just got signed by a decent label. I know it's not everyones cup of tea. |

Hi Linda! Sounds like you guys have some challenges too, but who doesn't? I think marriages are so individual, and we all have to deal with our own stuff in our own way. I was surprised that people have had the nerve to tell you to leave your husband just because he works! That's absurd. I know the schedule stuff and the travel is really taxing, but sounds like you two figure out how to make it work.

I agree that there are not a lot of groups (support) for musician's wives. My husband is a musician and I understand all of the sentiments from above. Just wanted to reach out! |
