Hello to all and I have to say this is a wonderful way to share this info and it's great to see people dedicated to this cause... as this group grows it will be great to see all the advice exchanged! This is such an important topic! The internet is an amazing resource yet has to be used with such caution, for adults and children alike. I myself believe in very strict moderation when it comes to computer use and children, I mean down to detail, and if you feel they are involved in something you do not have enough access to, then that activity should be seized. I am so disappointed in a lot of parents around me who have no idea what their children are doing on the internet... with all of the corrupt people and information just waiting there for our children's vulnerable minds. I think parents too need to realize that by putting restrictions on things and really showing your kids how much you care about their safety and just about what is part of their lives gives them a sense of security and knowledge to be cautious instead of this "go for it" attitude so many of the youth have about getting involved in just about anything. You want your kids to develop a positive attitude towards this great source of educational information, and develop a respect for using it only for that and not the negative things that can be found on the internet. I can't wait to see more input and suggestions for ways to keep our kids safe while guiding them through this vast amount of information at their fingertips!!
