Sleeping through the night?
I was wondering when other's preemies starting sleeping through the night. I've heard normally it's around 3 months, then I read that it has more to do with weight than age (10 lbs). But my pediatrician told me it has nothing to do with weight - it's age and it's 4 months not 3 months. But for my son, who was 7.5 weeks early, he'd be about 5-6 months old before he started sleeping through the night. He's 3 months (7 weeks adjusted) right now. I go back to work next week. I really hope he starts sleeping through the night before he's 5-6 months old! There's been just a couple times where he's been fed around midnight and slept until about 5 am. Most of the time we feed him at 11 pm and he'll wake up anywhere from 2-3:30 am. He also will usually sleep well (no grunting/moaning/groaning noises after my husband puts him to bed after the 11 pm bottle. But when I get up with him to feed him the next time, he grunts like crazy when I put him back to bed. Up until last night he has been sleeping in the Amby Baby Hammock. Last night we put him in his crib to sleep (first time he's been in his crib at night). He didn't do too bad. He made noises more, but he didn't cry. He did reflux several times even though we have a small wedge in there, but it wasn't anything major. My husband fed him at midnight and then I fed him again at 3 and again at 5 (just a little). Then he slept until 8 am. I'm hoping to hear that there's some preemies out there who slept through the night before their 3-4 month ADJUSTED age (even though I know all babies are different). I think it has a lot to do with digestion - and he seems to have problems with that.
