Crib Woes...
I need help...my 11 week old won't sleep in her crib. She will only sleep in her carseat (which we now place in her crib). I attribute this to us moving across the country when she was only 3 weeks old. When we first came home from the hospital and for those first three weeks she slept in her crib fine, but as soon as we moved she refused to sleep in the pack n play and now seems to not like lying flat. I think she likes the feeling of being in a smaller more confined area to sleep. I guess in all reality it probably doesn't matter that she sleeps in her carseat because she won't be able to sleep in it forever right? Thoughts.....

Averi slept in her carseat the fist few weeks as well... I think it just gives them more stability than being out flat in a crib. You have to understand how different it is being out in the open compared to being all squished in your belly. She will change the patteren soon. Try putting her down in her crib a little bit at a time and she should get more used to it as she gets bigger and more adjusted to being out of your belly.

Have you tried a sleep positioner and some swaddling? Might help. Good luck! :)

A crib is so big and a new baby so small, have you tried putting in a rolled up blanket to make the crib seem smaller to her? I had to do that with katie for the longest time. You can also get a roll pillow with velcro on the ends so that it won't move. She's so little right now she probably hasn't started rolling yet. With katie we actually had to prop her up to get her to sleep in her crib. Thankfully that didn't last long. By the time she could roll around she was fine. Turned out she hated sleeping on her back, and as soon as she could she would flip onto her stomach to sleep. Your daughter probably does prefer to sleep slightly upright and reclined, if you feel comfortable with it, prop her up in her crib. It's great that she will actually sleep in her carseat (katie never would) but the crib is much better.

Emma also didn't like sleeping on her back. When she was very little, we used a "Supreme Sleep Positioner" by Basic Comfort, which elevated her head a little, and had a comforting heartbeat sound in it. When she got older, we use sleep positioning wedges on either side of her which helped. Good luck!
