Help! My dgtr. wets through her sleeper
Any suggestions on urine-proofing my daughter? She goes to bed around 7 pm, sleeps a good 11 - 12 hours, but frequently wakes up wet, through her sleeper and bedsheets. We've used those vinyl panties over her disposable diaper, but this strategy no longer works (she's drinking more fluids now). We don't want to wake her in the middle of the night, either. She's 15 mos. old and weighs only 18 lbs., so I think the overnights are way too big for her and she's nowhere near being potty-trained! =)

I have this problem too. At first I used the next size diaper and that helped along with a large size onesie. But now she is wearing a size 6 and I am not sure about using a pull-up. I have seen diapers for overnight on the web (disposables), but I can't find them in the stores by me. I have been changing her sometimes while she is sleeping, I leave her in the crib and try to do it quickly.

I try not to let sarah have much to drink an hour before her bedtime. She also startd using the potty at 15 months, not all the time but when I take her she will often go so maybe you can try and get her to pee on the potty before bed.

We went 1 diaper up and when she wakes up for a drink we change her.Other then that nothing else works.

what brand of diapers do you use? I found with my daugher the only ones thick enough to handle all her pee is huggies. they also have an overnight diaper which is great, you can get it at most stores, like walmart, target, even some grocery stores. I also think limiting her fluid intake an hour to 2 hours before bed will help.

I swear by the Huggies Overnites. I started using the size 4 (at night only) on her when she was about 18 lbs. I know it says for 22+ lbs or something, but we have had only ONE accident in the last 2-3 months since we've been using them at night.
It looked a little funny on her (still does) since she's still sort of small for the diaper, but it works and it doesn't seem to bother her. I don't know if it's the brand, or the sheer size since it's larger, or the fact that nighttime diapers are supposed to be extra absorbent... Maybe all 3.

Thanks for the info! I will try a larger size diaper and/or the Huggies Overnites and keep everyone posted. I appreciate the input and it's nice to know that others have experienced the same issues, too. Sometimes I think my dgtr. is the only one struggling with this or that, and it's nice to know it's not uncommon. They keep us busy problem-solving, don't they?

The huggies brand are really adsorbent. I have been using Pampers baby dry, my daughter seems to get a rash when I use the others.

We use cloth so, I don't konw about disposables, but at night we use fuzzi bunz. Our daughter drinks from her cup all night, we don't limit her fluid intake. Here is the link for the diapers. They are nice because we wash them and I don't have to keep paying for new diapers. http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/store/fuzzibunz.html
Hope this helps!

Shanna,
Thanks, I was thinking of using cloth to start for potty training. (At least at home) My mother was saying that my siblings and I potty trained fast and she thinks it was because we wore cloth diapers. But back then it was the only option, LOL.

We have used cloth since day one, we love it. It was a little expensive to start out, but now that we are on our second baby, it is really paying off. Our daughter is potty trained and she is only 26 months. She started training in October (22 months) and I would say last month she was completely day trained, we are still working on night time, for the most part she is good, we started taking her potty upstairs at night and it seems to be helping. The place we buy diapers is from a work at home mom. Her name is Mandi and she is so great!

Hi, I'm a mom of twin girls and when it comes to diapers, we've tried EVERY brand, (ok not disposables though) Huggies does work the best for us. We use the regulars during the day and at night we use the supremes. Those sometimes leak but usually because I didn't put them on just right like if I let the elastic not wrap around the legs right of if it's not on right at the waist. I think in the two years we've been using them they work 95% of the time. Our girls are 27 months old now and they're only 25lbs. So I think they are about the same size as your little one at about the same age. We also have a bedtime routine where they drink their milk, then brush their teeth, then have storytime, so they have enough time to need to go so when we do do the diaper right before we put them in bed they've just gone #1. so it will be a while before they need to go again. if they have their milk and get changed too early then when we put them to bed they will go and then go again sometime during the night and so it will leak. anyways that's my 2 cents worth for urine-proofing. :) good luck finding out what works best for you.

My son is 2 years old and we just start to potty train. Every night right before I go to bed I have to change his diapper. Check first if it's full or not. My son goes to bed 8:00 pm through 7:00 am even if hi is wearing the overnights will no take the risk otherwise he will wake up during the night and it will be awful. Always change him on his crib and he very rare if wakes up.

Shanna, Do you have to buy the whole cloth diaper system or can you purchase a few?
