new to group
Hi..Im new to the group. I have two kids a four year old son and a 12 month old daughter. I had a question. My son never went to preschool so how do i get him ready for kindergarden?

You can get those pre-K books from Target (or wherever) and get him ready for number, letter and shape recognition. My younger son hasn't gone to pre-school either - my older son went and I don't think it was much of a benefit, so I think it's a mixed-bag. My younger son is a freak (of love) and can read, write and do math - we blame his father for this! We have intentionally avoided pre-school so that he wouldn't have an early start to burn out on school since that can happen with overachievers just as much as underachievers. I know the schools complain because of the transition to school-life with kids who did not go to preschool, but it really is okay to skip it if you think that's best for your child... afterall, you know him best!
