Just curious but how does everyone feel about giving their son a baby doll or something like the new baby elmo? I am expecting my second child in April and have heard that this is a good way to help a sibling adjust to a new baby but I am not quit sure what I think. I just wanted to hear other moms opinions. Anything would be great! |

All my boys played w dolls.I bought them stuffed animals and GI Joes and boy cabbage patch dolls. They all date girls and it didnt make em a sissy like some ppl (dads) claim it will. When I was prego w my no 2, I told my son that this was going to be his brother, his baby to always watch out for ,play with ,and protect. As soon as no 2 was born,I let him hold him and told him here he is;now you get to help me raise him so that he'll be the best playmate. After that,he helped me w /everything.Carrying things for me,Bringing me diapers, wipes,or anything that I wanted him to help me with. When no 2 was alseep, I made sure; I spent quality time w/him and told him; see, I still have time for you. They are still very close at age 25 and 22.They both work w the x and are getting their license's in what x-hubby does. |

I think that there is nothing wrong with it. And think it is a good idea.. My older step son had baby dolls and and stuffed animals and they have all turned out just fine. My son has a cabage patch kid. He know that it is there and everyonce in awhile he will bring it to me and say mommy the baby is sleeping. other than that he has all kinds of toys. Dolls Etc. we are actually treating the baby as it was kinda real because my son will have a new baby cousin real soon. and with his baby doll he sometimes likes to poke at its eyes and slam it on the ground. definitly would not want him to do that with a real baby. I do remember my brother who is now married with a child and one on the way . well he had a cababge patch kid. ( emery harris) he would walk around with that doll all day. it was his little buddy... I still have all of our childhoods cababge patch kids. |
