eating more table food
My little guy who just turn one, has been a good eater, but recently he do not want what I have fixed him. I make most of his food and puree it. He wants to feed himself more. I need some ideas for table food that he can pick up and feed himself. I am doing grilled cheese but I can not just feed him grilled cheese. Help.

My daughter is 8 months and we do fresh/canned fruit cut into chunks and steamed veggies. She loves them. Also, don't hesitate to let him make a mess. I give her grown-up oatmeal (after it has cooled) in a big blob on the tray of her high-chair. She likes the double benifit of playing in it AND eating it :)

I make whole wheat pasta for Mikayla, sometimes in Sauce, sometimes in a little butter but you can put it right on the highchair tray. She loves veggies and fruits. She eats Chicken nuggets, and if you cut hotdog up into small pieces it is ok to give to them. I also put cut up spinach into her grilled cheese sandwiches. This way she is getting higher nutients out of it, and you can't taste the spinach in there. I make Mikayla home made lentil soup and she loves it.

Bananas, cut-up English muffins and bagels, Annie's Mac N Cheese, soft cooked carrots, gerber graduates ravioli's. :)

He can eat pretty much anything you eat, except ofcourse peanut butter, peanuts and popcorn. Katie will be 10 months here shortly and she hated the baby food. I got a baby food grinder, (babies r us for $12) and i just grind up whatever we eat for her. I try to give her things that she can feed herself, she loves green beans cut up really small, cheerios, pretty much anything. Try not pureeing his food so much, he might want to have a little more texture in his food, thats what katie was wanting.
