bad bath time issues...piog...
My 21 month old son has always loved and completely enjoyed bath time. Never had a problem before. I ran him a bath the other day and as always was super excited and couldn't wait to get in. He was fine for the first 5 minutes, then out of nowhere he started screaming hysterically and trying to get out of the tub. I was in shock. I checked his whole body to see if he had hurt himself or had any pre-existing cuts or so that might hurt. I checked the water temp and everything as well. It was all fine...no obviuos problems. Today when I ran the bath as always he tried playing in it over the edge as it was filling and when I turned the water off to put him in he was a little hesitant. But he still let me take his clothes off to get in. Maybe a second after I put him in the tub he started screaming again. Trying to crawl over the edge to get out. I tried to clam him and he was just hysterical. I washed him up as quick as I could and pulled him out but he kept crying for a little longer. He has calmed down now but I am completely stumped and a little shaken and I have no idea what's wrong or what to do.

Does anyone at all know anything has anyone had this problem? I am so confused and I am a little worried something is wrong.
Please help if you can.....

My daughter went through that last winter and then she just seemed to get over it. I never did figure it out, but my thoughts were this time of year dry skin can be a real problem and sometimes water can hurt. I hope this helps, sorry I couldn't do better.

Nevermind, that was silly. I just saw that you live in Florida. I guess if you are using your furnace dry skin can be a factor, but not like it is here in Indiana.

My son has really mild eczema, and I was thinking that might be part of it but the onlu part of his body with it right now are his cheeks. I did notice his skin was a little dry yesterday. The weather here is so undecisive. I'll see if I can lotion him up a bit maybe it will help. Thanks!

My daughter is 23 months, and the same thing she always loved her bath and now she started to scream and cry even when I say lets go take a bath. She slipped and fell one time on her butt, but she didn't cry, so now I think that scares her! So we put some music on last night and she was much more calm in the bath. I think she is afraid of falling. But I have those bath things that stick to the floor so she doesn't slip. The water temp is always good. So it's that she has to feel safe, so I'm going to put a mat in there for her!

My daughter went through that as well, but she had pooped in the bath tub! My advice is to not bath him for a little while and then when going to give him a bath again, don't say a word, just bathe him! Good Luck
