bad bath time issues...
My 21 month old son has always loved and completely enjoyed bath time. Never had a problem before. I ran him a bath the other day and as always was super excited and couldn't wait to get in. He was fine for the first 5 minutes, then out of nowhere he started screaming hysterically and trying to get out of the tub. I was in shock. I checked his whole body to see if he had hurt himself or had any pre-existing cuts or so that might hurt. I checked the water temp and everything as well. It was all fine...no obviuos problems. Today when I ran the bath as always he tried playing in it over the edge as it was filling and when I turned the water off to put him in he was a little hesitant. But he still let me take his clothes off to get in. Maybe a second after I put him in the tub he started screaming again. Trying to crawl over the edge to get out. I tried to clam him and he was just hysterical. I washed him up as quick as I could and pulled him out but he kept crying for a little longer. He has calmed down now but I am completely stumped and a little shaken and I have no idea what's wrong or what to do.

Does anyone at all know anything has anyone had this problem? I am so confused and I am a little worried something is wrong.
Please help if you can.....

I don't know if this has anything to do with what is happening with your son but my 2 year old will freak out and not get in the bath if there is a hair or fuzz in the bath. He watches me clean the tub out before he will even begin to let me take his clothes off. He will take a towel and wash his feet before he gets in, its very funny (unless he is freaking out).... Don't know if that helps but hopefully you figure something out soon. Good luck!

It might just be a stage he is going through. Both my boy's first loved baths and then they went through a stage of hating it and then now that they are older they don't mind them again LOL. I have heard of some children realizing there is a drain in the tub and they are afraid to they will go down in it. Some don't like getting water on their face. Maybe he saw something that scared him. It's hard to tell when they are so young and can't express themselves very well. This should pass at some time. Good luck.

I can remember my son going through the same thing at times. I too, thought the water was too hot or he had a cut somewhere. I think it had to do with the loud noise the water made when coming out of the faucet. I know he will only sit in his Fisher-Price bathtub and not the actual big bathtub yet.

I had the same problem with my son. It was instant, he wouldn't even go in the bathroom. So I took a bath with him. It took one time and everything was back to normal.
