Aurora Mamas
Public group from Aurora, CO

moving to the area
Hi
My name is Sarah and I am mom of a very happy and busy little girl. Our family will be moving to Aurora in early March. We are moving with my husband's company and are awaiting the closing of our house here in Spokane and the new house in Aurora. We have lived in Spokane since we were children and all of our family and friends are here. It will be hard to leave them but we are excited to start this new adventure together. I have never been a part of an online or mommy and me group before but I am interested in meeting people in our new town.

Hi Sarah,

It is nice to hear from you. We moved to Colorado nearly 4 years ago and have been living in Aurora for a little over a year.

It is a great place to live! We enjoy it very much. My husband and I have one daughter, she is 20 months old and very active! How old is your little girl?

Please let me know if you have any questions or I can be of any help in your move and settling into the area.

Sincerely,
Renee

Hi Sarah,
Welcome, what an exciting time for you and your family. I moved here over four years ago from california and I love it here. It is hard leaving your family and friends and you will hit "the wall" sometime in your first year here but what you are doing now will help you so much. Building new friendships is key.
I have three kids and been married for 13yrs and live in south east aurora. Where in aurora are you moving? Aurora is a huge city. I'm here if you need me, happy packing, Anna

We are moving to SE Aurora but couldn't tell you much more about the location. I have only been to Colorado one time. We went on a house hunting trip and looked at nearly 50 houses in 3 days. Overwhelming, to say the least. We didn't even find our house on that trip. My husband has been working in Aurora since the first week in January and I have been here in Spokane. That is probably one of the hardest things, being without him. We make a great team and that becomes so clear when he is not there doing what usually goes unnoticed. Thanks so much for your welcome. I can't wait to get there.

Hey Sarah,
It is so hard going from a team to one person running the show. The good news is your almost done, just a couple of weeks left. Then you will be back with your best friend, I don't know how single moms do it. I'm very greatful for my husband I donn't know what I would do with out him. He is going to leave on a buissness trip in March, hopefully it is only a couple of days. By then you'll be here and maybe we can hangout, Anna

Hi Anna
Oh I just can't wait! He is coming home next week for Kaelynn's first birthday. very exciting. I hate the traveling but it allows for me to work part time and have Kaelynn with me so I am not complaining. Or trying not to do too much of it anyway. So how old are your kids? It would be great to find a buddy for Kaelynn. And me too.

Hey Sarah,
I guess we all have to give and take, work part time and stay home with your little girl. Whatever you have to do to be there for her. It has been tight for us living on one income but it has been well worth it. I have three kids Jared 10, Alyssa 8, and Evan 1. How wonderful that your hubby is able to come home for your girls 1st b-day. That is huge event. Is she walking? Is she your only child? Take lots and lots of pictures, it goes by so fast. Do you scrapbook, if you don't you'll need to start now. If you do you found a new best friend ha! ha!

Ah, glorious nap time. Once a day I have a chance to check email along with the 700 other tasks to get done in the short hour and a half. Ha Ha.

I do scrapbook but I am not great at it and haven't had time to do any scrapbooking of Kaelynn since she was like 3 months old. All the pictures are printed and the supplies sit aside for someday when I can find the time.

Kaelynn is our first but we are hoping to have 3. My husband is so ready to start trying. I think we will shoot for having them 2 1/2 years apart or so. If I could stay home full time, I would start now. I am a nanny here. it is kind of funny, I went to school for four years to get a degree and almost continued to get a masters and now don't use it at all. Not that I would change any part of it. I spent four years using my social work degree before I got married and started trying to have a baby. I was working with foster kids and they could get violent at times so I didn't want to be pregnant and work there. Then after Kaelynn was born I kept working part time at a pharmacy until I couldn't stand to leave her with anyone anymore. I found a nanny position where I could take her with me and it is one of the best decisions I have made. I will probably look for something like that again when I get down there. Geez long story, huh?

Hey Sarah,
How are you doing? Are you getting all your packing done? I hope you had a wonderful time with your hubby and the b-day party for your little girl.
Things over here have been crazy, my husband car was towed this week for expired tags. so, he is taking my car and that leaves me with nothing. Talk about struggling. hopefully we will get it payed tomorrow.
Please don't feel bad about your skills in scrapbooking. I still haven't finished my son's baby book and he is 10 years old. I don't know why, I can't bring myself to work on it. I have done my high scool years, my hubby's colleage years. and now I'm working on my parents. I can't work on my other two kids baby book until I finish Jared. I have all my stuff in the dinning room for over a week and I haven't touched it. maybe we can encourage each other to finish the books.
Thats great you and your husband wants more kids, That means you will be trying soon. Those are fun times, we are done. I will not have any more kids, the last one was really hard on me. but, I would love to adopt a little girl. That will take major prayers to change my husband heart he is done. It is sad to come to the end of building your family, no more babies, no more wondering if your pregnant and the trill of hopeing. You are in exciting time of your life, enjoy it. I'm sure you will find a nanny job fairly quick. child care is in high demand, alot of couples both work and need help. Talk to you soon Anna

I am sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out quickly. My husband actually gets back tomorrow night and her birthday is this Friday so we are getting excited. Lucky for me, I don't have to do much packing. We have to pack our personal items but the company will send movers to pack everything up and drive it down and they will unpack it too. It's a pretty sweet deal.

Oh, I thought her b-day was last weekend, so you must be very excited to see your hubby. Well, it must be nice to not have to pack everything, that is a huge job, you must be very thankful that you don't have to do it.
Things are doing good here. I'm joining an other playgroup so I'm excited about that. I'm also trying to start a new buisness so I can have a little extra money. Hopefully it will do good. Talk to you later, Anna

Hey Sarah,
My family and I just moved to Aurora less than a year ago. We hope your move goes well. It is hard moving with a little one, let me know if you need anything. I will be glad to help! I have a 2 year old daughter and a 10 month old son.

Hi Sarah

My family just moved to Aurora from Wenatchee.  All our friends and family are there and we moved for my husbands company.  How did your move go for you?  Have you met many other moms here?  I am looking forward to joining a play group so Nellie can meet some playmates.
