My 9 month old loves to chew on banana peels. Is this healthy? i don't let her do it all the time, but sometimes during breakfast she will grab the peel off the tabel and chew on it. I don't think she swallows it but i don't know if this is good for her or not. I thought banana peels we're poisonious if you ate them. Anyone know? |

I would be a little leary of letting her do that. There could be pesticides on them. |

I posted to you in the stay at home moms category, not only pesticides, but think of all of the people who go into a grocery store who do not wash their hands after going to the batheroom, who pick their noses or other body parts, and then touch fruit, any fruit.....Banana's are generally a fruit no one thinks to wash because the skin gets peeled away. |

Hi Amanda
I agree this can be a little dangerous based on what is on the banana skin. I guess she is in the teething period. Try getting her an interesting waterfilled teether maybe even in a banana shape?? and keep that on the table during breakfast. |
