Homebirth
I am planning to have an assisted home birth in September with my second child. Has anyone else had a homebirth? Any advice? I am super excited, I was unaware of the ability to have a homebirth in my area until after I birthed my first son in the hospital. It wasn't a horrible experience, but it just didn't feel right. My husband and sister in law had to practically drag me to the hospital after my water broke but I felt so mch more peace and much more comfortable at home. I haven't found any moms other than my sister who lives two hours away that have had home births. I would love to meet any moms in the hton head, bluffton, beaufort area that would like to start a homebirth support group.

My looooong time best friend who now ives in Michigan, has had 2 homebirths. She LOVED it! I would have loved to...but it just never happened with my 1st. I was young and not totally up to date on it, AND I ended up with a c-section due to breeech presentation, and NO doctors or midwives will do VBACs at home! But I would just reccommend doing what it looks like you are already doing. Research! Research! Research! Find some women to talk to who have done it. I know I've seen quite a few homebirths on TLC's"A Baby Story"-so maybe TLC.com would have archived shows that you can watch too. I know you can buy homebirthing kits online as well. Are you seeing a midwife?
