Ready to throw the bottle away?
My daughter is 9 months, and lately she has been refusing her bottle. I started giving her a sippy cup with a straw a while ago, and she loves it and does very well with it. But now she will not take her bottle. Today i put her formula in her sippy cup thing and she gulped it down. Is she ready to be done with her bottle? Or is it possible just a phase?

Hi Amanda-
I was in the same boat as you with my now 3 yr old, when she was 8 months. My Dr. actually told me at that point I could start offering her Whole Milk, a little at a time, but when she started refusing her bottle we also did the strawe cup and she loved it. Needless to say she was completely off the bottle at 9 months and was off formula completely by 10 months. Talk to your Dr. and see what his/her thought are on it, because I know all Dr.'s are different. I hope this helps!!!
Talk to you soon.

hi Amanda! my dr said the same thing of my 10month old son, once he favored the sippy cup- slowly offer milk in the sippy instead of his formula so that he didnt get confused and he took a little while to get used to the taste.. he was on soy for a while and now he has no bottle and will be 1next week... my daughter though had a bottle til she was almost 18months.. mostly at night though.. I am glad I caught on early this time.. makes it easier...

If they don't want the bottle, all the better. My 19 month old loves his bottle and is always asking for it. He won't drink milk out of anything else. The earlier the better I say.

If she doesnt wabt it that is fine. If she is drinking the same thing it wont matter what it coomes out of. Sarah refused her bottle at the first of her 11 months and wouldnt drink her formula out of a sippy cup so her dr. said it was fine to go to whole milk. She started drinking out of a sippy cup at 5 months and at 6 months held it all byherself and people couldnt believe it.Be thankful she is giving it up so easy I would take the opportunity why you have it.I t is sad though like you are styarting to lose your baby.

when weaning them onto milk should they still be drinking the same amount as they would formula?

I just weened my son off the bottle it actually wasn't that bad. He still has two sippy cups of milk a day but any more than that he gets constipated. The doctor said that 2 cups a day is fine.
