Scared
My children have to walk to the corner of a pretty busy street to catch the bus at 650 am.I always stand in my front yard to watch them get on the bus.Its about 3 houses from the corner. This morning a guy in a lil red car pulled up beside my kids got out of his car and started to open his passenger door.I started running and screaming at the kids to run away from this guy and his car.He saw me finally and took one more step towards my daughter in the culvert. My son was running towards me and had left his sister.Shes 9 and hes 12.He finally either heard me screaming that Id kill him w my bare hands if he went towards my kids any further steps, got in his car and left.My daughter came out of the culvert and my son ran to me the rest of the way.The bus came and picked em up.I had to call the school bus barn then the police and make a report.Stuff doesnt happen like this often here in michigan. The police acted like it wasnt a big deal.I told him would it be a big deal if I hurt the guy next time if he tried again?Hes like well you cant have a gun w you.Oh no I thought to myself we couldnt have that could we?I weigh 130 and the guy looked like he well well over 180.Who do yall thinks going to win?So now I am trying to get the bus to come in front of my house and they are telling me that theyve never had trouble at the stop before.I told em I dont give a damn what youve had before this is now. Then the bus ladt tells me that it would take more gas and 5 mins more outa her time if she had to come down here.Putting a price tag on my kids!So needless to say I am wound up and not very happy.Any suggestions?Oh the reason I cant leave my front yard unless something like this happens is cause Lexi is in her crib asleep. Its pitch black w only 1 light at the end of the street. We only have 1 car.He works 35 mins away and he gets home at 730am or sometimes later depending on the road conditions.I feel so helpless.I wouldnt want the kids to carry Mace cause its against the law at school and I dont want them close enough to a psycho like that.Plus children are not very strong.
I wrote this in the SAHM's also.

I think that in order to protect your kids it would probably be best to wake the baby and wait with your kids at the designated bus stop. I know that it is difficult to wake a sleeping baby, but it doesn't seem safe for your kids to stand on the corner by themselves.

WOW. Our bus company is the same way. I would contact the Superintendant and tell him what happened. Not so blundtly say you may need to contact the news company and an attorney to get this matter resolved. It seems schools and bus company will get things moving becuase they don't want bad publicity.

I am surprised that the police acted the way they did. I get so upset when I hear things like this happening. It makes me wonder if these people actually watch the news.

HUGS to you and your children!
