Hey there.. I have two cats. A black and white (spotted like a cow) domestic short hair female and a one eyed calico. Both cats were adopted and were the babies of our family until our son came along. I must admit I was freaked out about the whole cats possibly smothering the baby thing, so for the most part when Jake is sleeping Kayley and Sadie are locked downstairs in the finished basement with our two dogs. Both cats are lap cats and would think nothing of laying on the baby's chest. Before Jake, there were many a mornings I awoke with one of them purring on my chest.. I try and take every preventative cautionary measure to prevent this from happening (to the baby). I do feel bad for them (the cats), because they don't understand, all they know is that since the baby has come, things have changed drastically for them. They are very good with him, all our animals are, we are lucky!!
