Hi all. I just joined and hope to get some advice and share stories about our wonderful and terrible toddlers. :)
I have a DS who turned 2 in Dec., and he is the worst sleeper imaginable. He has to have one of us in the room with him when he goes to sleep, preferably me. Then he wakes at about 5:30 a.m. and doesn't go back to sleep until my DH goes in and lays down with him. We've tried nightlights and no lights, music and silence, fan and no fan...on an on. Anyone else experience something similar? Will he outgrow it? I'm going nuts since I have a 6 month-old who still wakes once to nurse. AAAHHHH!!

My daughter has gottne to where she wakes up at about 6:00 or 6:30 and wants to rock. she goes back to sleep but then it is hard for me to. I am thinking alot of it with her, and I just thought of this this morning is she is needing to peepee, because she is usually dry, then will pee if I dont take her. She just turned 2 Jan. 11. She goes to bed fine, we dont rock her to sleep. I even changed her bedtime from 8 until 9 hoping that would help but hasnt so I may change it back . Soryy I really dont have any advice, but maybe try putting him to bed a little later. |

what kind of bed is he in? I have a daughter who is 2 1/2 and she will only sleep right in her crib.. We have tried toddler beds but she just woke up all hours of the night and seemed scared. We had a baby in feb so we were going to use her crib for him, unfortunately we had to go out a by a new crib for him.. she seems to have no interest getting out anytime soon. She seems very secure in her own crib but anwhere else she is like your son... could that be your issue you think? jsut trying to help..

It's hard to say, I hear that if they learn a new skill, it disrupts their sleep. IF this has been going on for awhile, I suggest putting him to bed earlier. (15 min increments). He should be getting a bout 12 hours at night. It helped with my son when I switched his bedtime from 8:30 to 7:45 and now he sleeps until 7:30-8am. I got this info from a book called "Healthy sleep habits, happy child". It worked for me. Good luck! |

I really wish I could help u but my 16 month old does not sleep through the night yet. She wakes about every two hours, I have tried everything. Even putting her in bed with my husband and I does not work, she will still wake up, she whines a little then tosses and turns for about five minutes, then she will go back to sleep but I have to pat her or lay with her. It is great that your six month old sleeps so well. |

DS is in his big-boy bed, but we tried putting him back in his crib when he first switched. For a week, it made things worse. :( I'm hoping he outgrows this soon, and that he'll stop with the early morning wake-ups. I need some rest!!! ;) |
