Hello, my 17 month old son has very dry, pink patches of skin between his toes that I noticed the other day when we were playing. I wash his feet/between his toes at bathtime and moisturize his body after the bath, so the patches confuse me. We also use a humidifier in his room at night and during naps. My husband thought it might actually be a baby kind of athlete's foot because of the fact that he wears footie PJ's at night and his feet might be sweating? Anyway, I'm not sure if I should moisturize with Aquafor for dry skin, or use a lotrimin cream for the athletes foot and keep his socks off for a few days. I can't find much on this issue on babycenter.com or any of my other trusted sites, and lieu of calling the pediatrician, I figured I'd try here first.....comments/suggestions please. Thanks! P.S. My son isn't bothered by this at all so it mustn't be all too bad, it just looks itchy and bothersome to me. |

My 16 month old has that on her leg. I am thinking that it may be ezcema. I keep putting aquafor on her but it does seem to work. Hers is about the size of a quater, and it does not bother her either. I would think that maybe keeping his socks off a couple of nights would probably make it better. I think that athletes foot is itchy but I am not sure. My niece has ezcema and she just has prescription lotion that she has to use and it goes away, when it comes back she just uses the lotion again. |
