Hello, My daughter is 7 1/2 months old and I'm still breastfeeding her. I have been giving her baby food sense around 4 months. She used to Love anything I gave her and wouldn't refuse anything. Then she started getting picky and not really liking some stuff. Now I can't get her to eat any baby jar food. I have gotten some of the Gerber Graduates stuff (the puffs, and freeze dried corn & apple) which she likes. She'll try to eat most 'adult' food but mainly the only thing she'll eat is the Gerber stuff. Does this mean I should give up on the baby jar stuff? How long do baby's normally eat them? I'm having a really hard time getting her to eat a variety of food and its getting frustrating. I was reading that a lot of you gals give them yogurt but we are doing nothing with dairy because it upsets her stomach. I'm not to worried that she starving because she is still breastfeeding no problem, but she doesn't even nurse that often maybe 6 times in a 24 hr period. Does anyone have and idea? tips? Thanks.
with sean- i usually give a jar of baby food with a bowl of rice cereal which is mixed with his formula-maybe if you mix the veggies in with the ceral at first she will notice the milk tase and be more open to eating it. then just wean down on the ratio of cereal to baby food or go back and fourth (one spoon of cereal one spoon of peas). Good luck!
Hello. My Daughter is now 10 months old and I am still breastfeeding. Of course she only nurses about 3 to 4 times a day. My doctor told me to mix the breastmilk with the food and add oatmeal or rice cereal if she's used to it. That way it's not a huge change in flavor to her. Start out with more breastmilk then the food your giving her and then gradually use less and add more of the food. I hope it works for you! Good luck! :-)
