My 7 month old daughter just got her first bottom tooth in the other morning. This same week she has been sleeping at 7 every night until about 2 am and then has been up and down until 6 am where she is up for the day. The hours are killing me and im guessing its due to her teething? Any suggestions to help her sleep better or maybe I should move her bedtime higher??
thanks! Heather |

Hyland Teething Tablets when she gets up at 2am. They won't hold her through the entire night, but it should help get her through the rest of the night.
My son is 11 months old and is still teething. If his gums are really bad during the day, we'll give him some Tylenol right before bed, but it's only good for 4 hours and I've been told to try Motrin since it lasts up to 8 hours. He has to be really teething before I'll go that route though. Usually, the teething tablets (3 of them) right before bed will work until around 2am, then we give him a couple more if that's what wakes him up, and he sleeps the rest of the night.
Good Luck! |

Hi heather, Teething is horrible (in my expeince it has been) Motrin works wonders, i swear by the stuff. Just call your pedi and get the correct dose, they go by weight. Teething tablets work great too, but sometimes with katie they wouldn't work. Baby orajel works great too, they have daytime and nightime formula. But don't give orajel and motrin/tylenol at the same time. Atleast with katie it makes her throw up. Keep in mind that the nightime orajel has tylenol in it as well, so i usually adjust the dose of the motrin to compensate for the orajel. I know some moms are really worried about using it, but belive me it works wonders. Also during the day you can give her a bottle of cold water with ice cubes in it. I just use a slow flow nipple so she doesn't fill up on water, but the ice really helps and they will chew on it. |

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I am trying a bunch of things right now, hoping that something will work. Mayah was up from 2-6 last night cutting another tooth. It was horrible. I will try your suggestions and pray that they work!
Thanks again! |

Hi Heather, I am going through the same thing as well. I have tried using the teething toy with liquid gel (froze it and let it thawed), ice cubes and a homeopathic pellets and tylenol. It worked for a little bit. I found that cuting a few pieces (cubed or rectangular shape) of cold cantaloupe and honeydew has helped a lot. She loves the taste and it soothes her. During the day, I give her some fresh cold watermelon juice to drink from her bottle. Nothing beats being held though. :) Good luck! |

Well my daughter seems to be doing alot better now. She seems to love those mesh things that you can buy at babies r us. The motrin also seems to work better than the tylonal if she gets really bad. Hope this helps some of you mommies! |
