Hey everyone! My son is 16 months and got his first tooth last month. Actually, he got his two bottom teeth at the same time. Now, he has a tooth on the upper on the side (not the front and not the back, kinda in the middle) and looks like he is going to get another one in the bottom on the side, but oppisite of the upper side one. I've heard that their teeth should come out in a certin order, but his are not coming in the "correct" order. Has anyone had (or having) this problem and/or any thoughts on it???
Thanks, Andrea |

Wow he is late on his teeth.Because he is so late I dont think it matters what order they come in or how fast. You do have to be careful now that his teeth dont turn colors. The dentist told me that when a babies teeth come in late there could be problems later on w density and their color so keep a watch. |

Thats interesting...my Dr. told me (at his 12m check up) that a reason his teeth may be coming in late because it is hereditary. He also told me that late teeth are actually stronger. I wonder if I should check with my dentist...? Thanks! |

Im sorry. All I know is what my sons dentist told me.He was 1 of those dentists that were specialist for children only.Took us forever to get into seeing him.I wouldnt have known about it had my #5 son not had complications w vaccines and lost all his teeth and had to have extensive work/surgery on his little mouth. They questioned me about all of my children and when their teeth started coming in. |

My son was late on getting his teeth also. He got his front top and bottom teeth and then got his back molars and now all the other teeth are starting to come in no certain order. Our ped. said that he was probably taking after his dad. My husbands teeth came in almost the exact way and he has a beautiful set of teeth. I wouldn't worry he probably just wanted to get all his teeth at once :) |

Boys usually do get their teeth later than girls. They usually do come in a certain order but it is not really a big deal if they come in different. I am a dental assistant so I am just telling what the dentist I worked for always said. It may take him longer to loose his baby teeth since they did come in later, which is not a bad thing at all. I bet you were excited when you first seen that pearly white pop through!!! Stephanie |
