I am trying to change my 12 mon boy's naps to 1 a day. It works okay when he sleeps until 7:30-8am but sometimes he wakes up around 6:30am. Do I keep him up until 12-12:30 for 1 nap or do I give him 1 short 1 in the am and than another in the afternoon like before? |

Hello! My son is 17 months old, and is just now making the switch to 1 nap a day. I think you just have to take baby's lead with this one. Anthony would still take a morning nap, then when he'd seem tired in the afternoon, I'd put him in his crib, and he'd relax by himself, rest a little, then let me know he's had enough quiet time. Just this week he's been refusing to go down for his nap until 11:30 or 12noon, and he's taken one good long (1 1/2 hours) then and no later rest time. Hope this helps. :) |

It's the same here. Caroline is 14 months, and over the weekend she just refused to go down for her afternoon nap. She's up at 600 every morning, but is in bed now at 630 since we don't have that later nap. Follow his lead. |

My baby is 10 months and she just started to take 2 long naps a day. She takes a little nap right before bed. Has a snack and goes back to bed. Her doctor told me wait for her to change her nap schedule on her own. I know I try to keep my daughter up as long as I can so she'll sleep right through the night but she'll fall asleep the second her head hits my chest. It's very tough. I'd give him a short nap in the afternoon and then try to give him a long nap in the afternoon. good luck :-) |
