if anyone can help me with family court issues and ringarounds

Hello Group, I am a single mom of 4 that has been going to court for the past two yr.s and has still reach nowhere. I am trying to collect child support for my children and i don't recieve anything. I feel like my voice is not being heard

hi trish i happen to be in that situation now.my ex husband owes for the past 4 months.i do know that if the fathers get too far behind then they will revoke the drivers license,and if they have a buissness they will put a lean on it.do you have a lawyer,depending on where you live they offer low in come lawyers based on what you make.is he supposed to pay through the DA.if so they can hold him in contempt,and maybe go to jail.you might want to go to court and ask about it and they have numbers that you can get help from.good luck and i am here if you want to chat.Lori

Is he working? You need to contact your case worker to find out about the status of your case. Is he residing out state? These cases are more difficult to enforce because we are talking two states and the process and communication is slower. Another suggestion is request this case to be scheduled for enforcement. At the hearing you can request from the Judge or Hearing Officer to place him in a 2 missed payment status (It means that at any time if he misses 2 consequtive pymts a Bench Warant for his arrest can be issue. In that way, you'll eliminate the long wait of filing motions or requesting enforcement hearing). I hope that you can get the help that you need. I know how frustrating for you guys is the judicial system (I work for the Child Support Division). If I can help you in any way, do not hesitate to contact me.
