| Hi, my name is Meagan and I am a stay at home mom. My husband is currently in the Air Force but is getting out next month. He got a job as a civilian at Fort Gordon. I have a son who is 27 months old! I am new to the group and I came here to ask advice on places to live near Fort Gordon. We are looking to buy a house in the area within the next couple of months. I am pretty familiar with Augusta but not familiar enough to know where the good and bad places are to live. Thanks in advance!!! |

Hi Meagan!
I'm Laura, from Martinez. I'm a SAHM to 6, but only have 4 (3 boys ages 10,8, 3 1/2 and a daughter who will be 2 on 1/17) at home now. My hubby works at FT G as well,but is a civilian. I am also a Realtor, but license is inactive :) looking to change that here soon. I am a former Army brat, so I have lived here all my life. I can definately help you with the area. Advice- Stay in Columbia County Martinez/Evans area. They have the best schools as compared to Grovetown/Harlem area. Though Grovetown is growing at an alarming rate, so hopefully that will improve the schools as the neighborhoods grow and more military and middle class people move there.

Hi, Meagan. I am also moving to the Augusta area. My husband and I bought our home in Grovetown. It is a very nice area and close to post. Good Luck!!!
