Any single Moms out there potty training boys?
I'm ready to start potty training my Son and a lot of the past reading I have done said to have them watch your Husband use the potty etc. I'm a single Mom without a man in the house. Any single Moms in the group with some advise? Also advise on sitting potty chairs vs. the stand up urinals? I bought a sit down chair with a little pee pee shield, but haven't been able to get him to use it yet. He's great at standing up in the tub and letting it fly :-) That made me think about the stand up urinals.

hi,
i was a single mom when my oldest potty trained so i understand . Since boys start using the potty sitting down usually u can let him watch u and tell him u r going in the potty . I have heard lots of mom using cheeoris and a little stool in front of the toilet and telling them to aim and hit the cheerios or fruit loops ( they are brighter) . I used a stool since i did not have a urnial. Good luck i have 2 boys and found it very hard...

I'm not single, but my husband is gone most of the time and I've trained 3 of my boys pretty much on my own. I found that turning them around on the potty was a good transition (and it's cleaner, too). As they got a little older, they knew to face that way and standing was easier to do than stradling. Cheerios are way fun, too, for little guys.

single mom trying to potty train 2 year old. I bought the sit down chair and a stool with a smaller seat to put on putty. I have been bringing him over to the potty (the little sit down one) and having him sit on it. I need tips too!

Thanks Charlene, my oldest sister told me to get him in a preschool that has like 10 potties available and all the kids potty at once so he will see it being done by his peers. I will keep working on it at home too. Let me know it goes for you and any pointers. Daria :)
