My daughter is almost 10months old and is still eating baby food, but loves to try what mommy is eating. I know she is not allowed peanut butter, but what are other foods is she not allowed to have? |

She should be able to try a little bit of just about anything that you eat. At this point she is learning what she does and doesn't like, textures, how to chew different things, etc. She definitely cannot have honey. It can carry botulism spores and make her extremely sick. Some high allergy foods are citrus fruits, strawberries, chocolate, nuts...tomatoes are highly acidic so I try to stay away from them with my 11 month old (he has reflux, otherwise I think that it would be fine?). Other than that (and milk or ice cream), I let him try everything that I eat. He LOVES yogurt (I give him the YoBaby by Stonyfield Farms) and cottage cheese, too. I wasn't sure when he could start those but talked to my Dr. and she said it was fine. Even the higher allergy foods I have recently started to introduce him to, I've just been careful to do it slowly and make sure that he doesn't have a reaction. |

egg whites can be very allergenic, so I have read to hold off on those till 1 yr. Stay away from honey until she's 1 or 2 due to botulism risk. also cow's milk and wheat should not be given until 1 yr old.
I think those are the major ones unless your baby seems to be sensitive to acidic foods like citrus and tomatoes. if so, stay away from those till her 1st bday also (but I've heard by 9 months some are ok with these).
If anyone can think of any others please add to this! |

Can I ask what table foods you're starting with? My son is 9 months and the only table food I've given him is the Yo Baby yogurt and fresh fruit..he Loves them both! I'm so afarid of him chocking that I feel like I am always hesitating on trying to give him something new. Also, do you have to introduce the table foods gradually like the baby foods??? |

Well I usually only give Mackenzie a little taste. She is so interested in what mommy is doing and eating. Today was the first time she actually ate a decent amount (3 tbsp) of my food. (It was yogurt). She has tried mashed potatoes, (plain)pasta, chicken, turkey and maybe a few other things. I give her very very small pieces, lol i would not even call it a piece! And only one at a time. |
