my daughter is two months old. I have been breastfeeding her since she was first born. now she is starting to come on and off the breast more when she is nursing. She is also not taking bottles that great and going to work is hard. She wants the bottle but then rejects it. We have tried every bottle so far. I am pumping so she still gets breastmilk Can someone help me with the problems i am having and give me some advise.
I had a hard time going back to work too. Keep trying the bottle. I have never fed my daughter with a bottle. Mommy breastfeed's. Daddy or who ever is taking care of her feeds her bottles. Make sure you pump at the times she takes bottles so your milk supply keeps up. I pump at work and freeze it. Then defrost it as needed. You can keep it in the freezer for 3-4 months.
I used the Avent bottles, I don't know if that makes a difference. It's what I started with and I never tried anything else. Just a suggestion, maybe its not the bottle. It could be the temperature of the milk. I have found that my daughter doesn't like the milk too warm. She likes it like the breast milk, Just a little warmer than room temp. The milk may even be hot for her. Babies mouths are very sensitive. Also remember never to lay her down while she is drinking from a bottle. It can cause ear infections, tooth decay, and poor eating habits as she gets older. It can also cause gas which can be painful for babies. Did you know babies don't know to let gas out. They try to hold it in which can cause pain.
My daughter also went through a phase where she came on and off while feeding. I think she was about your daughters age. Maybe a little older. She was quite dramatic about it too. She would sling her head back. Sometimes it scared me. Thankfully it was just a phase. Though it seemed like forever, it didn't last too long. Then we moved on to other fun and intersting phases. :)
