Only Children Group
Public online group

Hello - I'm new to raisingthem and this group
I have an only child who will remain so. She is 21 months old. I'm looking to meet other mom's online and perhaps get a small playgroup/mom support group in the Reading, PA area going. However, in the meantime, I'm very interested in talking to other mom's of only children. My husband and I both come from families with more than one child and are a little concerned about how our daughter will deal with it as she grows up. We don't want her to be "weird". She seems fine and content at this age to just be an only child but I'd sure appreciate any advice I can get re how to deal with issues in the future when she wants a baby brother or sister (which I figure will inevitably happen). Of note, my husband and I had A LOT of trouble staying pregnant - suffered multiple miscarriages and were finally blessed with our daughter through in vitro. Needless to say, giving her a sibling would be very costly and not guaranteed (not to mention an emotional rollercoaster for me again).

Hi Christina, My name is Nina I am a only child and there is nothing wrong with it I have one son he just turned 13 months but I think I want to have more but it is more for me than him I guess I love him and would like at least one more because he moved so fast I never got to enjoy him. I don't plan on having anymore til he turn 3 or 4 though. I totally understand your thoughts on it being costly especially from what you went through to get her so that is something you have to put alot of though into and see whether you can bear the outcome of trying again and prepare yourself for whatever may come of it. I am in York PA looking for friends how far are you from here. ttyl if you want to chat more
