My daughter will be 2 in February and she is just learning how to go on the potty and loves to do it. My problem is that she's been very constipated lately sometimes not going for two days. I have a Dr. appointment today but she's in such pain when she goes it is worrying me. It feels to me like she is holding it because it hurts her and she doesn't want to go. She always tells me she has to poop cause she says :belly hurts". She eats a ton of raisins because everyone told me it will help her go. I just feel like she is scared to go because she doesn' t want to be in pain. Anyone else ever have there child scared to go? I hate to see her this way it breaks my heart to see her cry. |

My aunt's daughter will be three in April ( 10 months older than my son) and she is the exact same way to the point that they have to actually give her supositories when she will not go for more than 3 days, they have tried to give her every type of fp but nothing seems to work. I have not talked to her about it lately but I will bring it up and see if she has any suggestions. |

Thank you very much for the replies! I will take the advise and hopefully she will get on a regular schedule. The Dr. has me giving her pear juice and cutting down her pasta intake. |

I have tried everything w Lexi and her constipation. She drinks Juice all day.She has a water sippee also. She loves veggies. It doesnt matter what she eats or how much she drinks ,she cant go to the potty. When the urge hits her,I have to break down and lay her down and hold her lil legs up and spread so she can pass it.It makes me cry; cause shes crying. Its awful.I even broke down and gave her a tsp of karo and that doesnt help either.I am starting to potty train now; so hopefully on the potty w her legs spread;itll be easier for her to push out.My hubby looks at me and says good Lord, how can you sit there and look and smell that?I tell him hes talking to a woman who cleaned up big ,old ppl for a living before I got pregnant. My 9 yr old was the same way and she grew out of it.Her intestines caught up and finally grew w/ her body. |

I am going to try the prunes out.ty Lexi hasnt gone for 2 days and if she does its a lil at a time.Karo works but it takes awhile.Maybe 2 r 3 prunes a day like you suggested will keep her on a schedule.I hate that shes in pain. She doesnt understand that the potty could kindof help her.She feels the urge now and because it has hurt in the past ;she squeezes her legs together now.Ill let you know. |

I bought some prunes at the store today and gave her 2 cut up and she ate about 1 1/2.She woke up having to go potty after her nap.So it worked pretty fast.I am going to give her 2 a day and see how that works.Itd be better then Karo cause of the sugar. |
