I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but, it never seize to amaze me how people tend to say they want a healthier safer lifestyle for themselves and their family. The truth of the matter is...I think alot of parents today are too caught up trying to impress other parents with what they have, what they do for a living and what ACTIVITIES their kids are involved in. The real deal is... I think more parents need to be proactive in the food their children eat, the education their children receive and definately the CHEMICALS that are slowly killing everyone who feel the need to buy bleach and other hazardous toxic products from grocery stores that are making tons of money off of us. How many of your children suffer from bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, allergies, ADD, ADHD, Austism, will suffer from cancer or already do?...Do you think it is just coincidence? Our children are slowly being poisoned by simple products such as toothpaste, hairspray, airfreshner, make-up, nail-polish, just about you everyday household products. Understand this, your homes are hazardous to your health. It never hurts to be an educated consumer. Be proactive in your family's health, afterall, when all else fails....it's always good to have great health. If you've never thought about the health hazards you expose your family to visit www.groundwork.org.za/resources/household_toxic_tour.htm, and if you are serious about being a healthy family, I can share what I did to help to enhance my family's health. Thank you so much for the groundwork site. This past year, I have gradually tried to get my family to use more natural and organic products and I am receiving much resistance. My husband doesn't want to give up what he has grown up with and our children still living with us are teenagers so they just think I'm nuts! The more I read about what we are being sold in the mainstream markets, the more scared I get for our children. |

Sandy, change is usually hard for people...even for spouses. The older we get, the more set in our ways we become. It's important to know that it is ok to take baby steps in that change process, because it is well worth it, especially when it is about your health. For the past 7 years, my daughter now 8 suffered from bronchitis and pneumonia. Yes, I did the nebulizer, the steroids, the medications (thank God that's all over), but I converted my home to products made from natural ingredients and I am now a happy mom who has not visited the doctor in the past year. Was the change worth it? You better believe it. Thanks for responding, happy holidays to you and your family. I hope you all have a prosperous new year!!!!! |

Shereen, I think your website is great! I too am concerned about the environment my children live in. I have found a great company that has non-toxic products to use in my home. They have really changed our health and life. My husband is a teacher and every year he would get strep throat. Now that we are using these products, he has not gotten strep once in the last 3 years. If anyone wants to know more about the products I am using I would love to talk to you! You can send me a message here or, send me an e-mail at dawnhoward@fourpointwellness.com

I am so happy that more and more family's are becoming aware of the toxins in our homes. We also need to think about what those same toxins are doing to our planet here are some things that I do that help.
Five Easy Ways to Go Green
Going green doesn’t need to be difficult or complicated. Even small steps count, and what you do every day can help keep your family and the planet healthy. Thanks to the thousands who have chosen Get Clean, look at the difference made over the past 12 months!
* Kept 10,230,732 pounds of packaging waste out of landfills. * Eliminated 23,492,792 pounds of greenhouse gas.
In honor of Earth Day, here are some small steps for you that add up to a big impact
Clean Up Your Cleaning Products
Some conventional cleaning products can contain questionable chemicals like phthalates, butyl cellosolve, sodium hydroxide, ammonia, or formaldehyde. Why would you endanger your health or the health of the planet with harsh chemicals and toxic substances when you can choose natural and healthier alternatives?
Switch to Get Clean®. Get Clean offers choices that are safe, nontoxic, and natural, and they work wonderfully. Many Get Clean products are formulated using sustainably sourced ingredients from natural sources, like activated enzymes or biodegradable cleaning agents derived from corn and coconuts. When you welcome Get Clean products into your home, you’re not exposing your family to many of the dangerous chemicals found in conventional cleaners.
A great way to start is with the Get Clean Starter Kit—everything you need to clean your home. To order yours, visit us at www.shaklee.net/sharingthedream/getclean, or call 1.206.203.2425
Start Using your Dishwasher!
Using the dishwasher is actually better for the planet than washing dishes by hand. The average energy-efficient dishwasher uses just 4 gallons of water per cycle, saving nearly 5,000 gallons of water per year compared with hand washing—as well as $40 in energy costs and 230 hours of washing time, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
Make sure to use a phosphate-free detergent. Phosphates spur algae blooms and are a major source of water pollution.
Get Clean Dish Wash Automatic Concentrate is one of the first phosphate-free automatic dish wash detergents.
Ditch the Anti-bacterial Hand Soap
Triclosan, a common ingredient in antibacterial soap that kills microbes, ends up in our water sources and, at specific levels, is acutely and chronically toxic to aquatic life. Moreover, overuse of antibacterial and antimicrobial soap can help create antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which may weaken the effectiveness of currently useful antibiotics. Antibacterial soap doesn’t offer any better protection against illness than vigorous hand washing with plain soap and warm water.
Get Clean Hand Wash Concentrate is a great antibacterial-free alternative. It’s soap free, pH balanced, hypoallergenic, and has biodegradable surfactants.
Bring your own bag
Okay, we’ve all heard this one, but it’s true. Neither paper nor plastic is the ideal choice. Paper is accepted in more recycling programs, but only approximately 20% is recycled, and most bags can end up in landfills. Plastic bags not only can take a thousand years to decompose and but use up nonrenewable resources. The best choice? Bring your own reusable bag. A sturdy, reusable one can take the place of hundreds or maybe even thousands of single-use bags over its lifetime.
Get Clean offers lightweight, sturdy, reusable shopping bags in a bright green color with the Get Clean logo, so you can spread the word while you shop.
Buy from Socially Responsible Companies
Use your consumer power to support companies that are environmentally responsible and offer products that are safe for you and the environment. Shaklee has a long history of environmental responsibility, including introducing one of the first biodegradable cleaners in 1960.
Shaklee is the first company in the world to obtain Climate Neutral™ certification and totally offset its greenhouse gas emissions. For more information please visit www.shaklee.net/sharingthedream or call 1-(206)-203-2425 |

Kathy, I looked back and I see that you do mention Get Clean and I'm glad to know your working with Shaklee. However I'm not competing with you, I dont feel I compete with any other Shaklee distributor, I also dont think of my business as selling Shaklee. I have chose Shaklee simply because I agree with their business philosophy (Doing Well by Doing Good). I looked at this post and I felt that no one was mentioning what we can do to protect our families and no one was bringing up the fact that the toxins in our home are affecting our planet. Earth Day is Tuesday, and many people don't know what to do to remove toxins from our lives or how to live greener, that is why I posted that message I feel it provides great information. I put my web site and contact information on it so anyone who does not know about these great products or this amazing company can find out more. I would never encourage someone to order from me if they already have a Shaklee distributor. I hope you see that we are all working together to spread the word and make a change for a better future.
