Reading
Do you read to your children even though they are too young to understand? If so what do you read them and for how long?Did you read to your baby while she/he was in your womb? You know it doesnt matter what we read our children;the tone of voice makes all the difference in the world. We could read them the Declaration and theyd love it.If any of you would like to join the book club here just look it up.We are voting on the book for the month we will be reading and next month you can add a book to the poll you'd like to read and we will vote on it.

Hi there, I have read to Alex (who just turned 1 on Dec 5) since the week he was born. I usually read to him for a few minutes at a time up to an hour. When he was a baby, he wanted to be held all the time. So, I used to read the books I was reading aloud. At the baby age, the idea of getting English verbalized to him was the important thing. Now, I read him board books. His attention span is just a few minutes at a time, but if I can get a few books in a day at random times, he loves it.

I did not read to Alex in womb, but we did play alot of music, classical.

What type of books do you read?

I started reading to my daughter when she was about 3 months old, I only talked to her in the womb. She loves books, she has a book shelf filled and I even have a dresser filled with books for her. When she is tired she will sit on my lap while I read, other then that she will open a book and read to herself. She cant read, but it is like she is coping me which is good. She will look at the pictures and say what they are.

I have always read to my family and they still enjoy it today. I ocassionally read stories to my teens at night and we always bring interesting or weird fact books to read out loud on trips.
