Any single parents near Newark, NJ?

My name is Patrice and I have an 8 month old daughter, Tessa. I just moved to NJ this past summer to be closer to my mom. She's a great help and I love being so close to her, but all my friends are in NYC. I am trying to meet some new people in the area. Anyone in the Newark area?
