where are we all located?
Hi all, I am new to the group, a SAHM to a one year old boy. We live in Odenton, Md and I attend Severn Christian church (www.severnchristian.org) and I am looking to get back into serving others now that my son is getting bigger. But I also want to set an example for my son even though my husband is not as avid as I am about Christianity and serving. I am putting it all into God's hands and praying for wisdom and guidance as to how I go about this and balancing home and church activities.
If anyone wants to reply, please indicate what state and/or town you are in and what church you attend. Also kids ages and maybe some of your hobbies and interests.

Hello, we are from San Jose, California. We currently do not have a home church, we used to go to church in Hayward, 30 minutes away depending on traffic. The gas prices are high and we stopped going so we're currently looking for a church in San Jose that is spirit filled and all about the Lord.We want to make sure that our family goes to a church that is truly a church of God.Nice to meet you Neely.

We just recently started going back to church and so excited, that we have decided to become members.

I love anything to do with adoption (I'm adopted) as well as having one daughter adopted from China and we've been home now just 7 1/2 mos with her. We've even started a 2nd adoption (for a boy) now and waiting to be approved (again) by China. I love to blog as well as love music and dancing.

If anyone is near Monroe, let me know, I would love to meet up sometime.

I also went to Grace Community a few times back when I was a teenager. Sun Valley sure is different than AR isn't it? :)

I don't miss it one bit! I always felt like a fish out of water in CA.

I'm much happier here in WA. We live 35 miles outside of Seattle and were pretty much in the country and on the way to the Cascade Mountains. It's so green here and lots of trees, evergreens, I just love it!

P.S. I apologize I misspelled your name. :)

I'm a SAHM of a 3yo boy Kaleb and we are going to start trying for another one soon. We live in Portland OR and we go to Valley Christian Believers in Salem. It's about 1 hour away. I grew up going to that church and it's a really small family church. So we still go there.

Hi Neely,
I am also new to the group. I am located in New York City and go to Times Square Church. I am a mother of 2 grown children and 2 younger boys. Many years ago before my 2 younger boys were born, I worked at the love kitchen feeding the homeless. It was one of the most memorable times of my life. My children and husband came also. We learned more about God's love and ourselves. I had to stop when I had my son. But I still helped out by calling in the food order. God has us do different things at different times in our lives. I've learned to imbrace that. I would encourage you to pray and ask God. Then until he answers help out different ministries. God will let you know. Sometimes it's the place you least want to go, but you'll be very glad you did. God's plan is always perfect.

Hi everyone Julie and Joshua here. My so is 12 months old. We live in Illinois and attend Harvest Assembly(www.harvestassembly.com). I am also the Girls Only(G.O. Boldly) Ministry leader. The girls age range from 4yr to 16yr-there are 25 girls total...lots of FUN!! Balancing church and family is tricky sometimes. We are at church Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night and then any special occasions- like this Saturday is the G.O. Boldly car wash that I am in charge of. I just don't get involved in any thing that the Lord dose not lead me to do. Sometimes we miss a Sunday night service or a get together to spend time with just my family. Remember that the husband wife relationship is the first and most important humanly relationship that the Lord created. The most important relationship is yours with Jesus Christ, then your husband...everything else is just "gravy".

Anne,
I didn't make it to Montana (had our friendship gone further well I'm sure we would have).
NN was nice, we only spent a weekend there and it was more with his mom and a few of his friends but my husband now sometimes has to go to Richmond for work. I have been out there with him before when I was pregnant I think. Can't remember, and he has a trip to Va coming up which might be back there again!
You should send me your email or something, who knows, I might actually be able to meet you and the family for church or something if we go out to the location with him again!
I am from a small island, Trinidad, so I got enough beach there but my son has yet to have time playing in a real sandbox! :-)

I live in Fairfax, VA. Grew up in Falls Church, VA. So, I've been here all my life. I lived in PG County, MD for 3 years; and, absolutely hated it. The commute to family, work and church in VA was awful.

I now attend church at Heritage Fellowship in Dulles, VA. I'm the mother of a beautiful, energetic and fun little girl. "Miss Princess" Faith Olivia was six months old this past Sunday.

Welcome to VA for those of you new here. My mom's living in Portsmouth, VA now. I'm pretty familiar with most parts of VA. She's a United Methodist Pastor; and, just moved to her new assignment.

Sorry PG county did not work out for you but seems things are wonderful now :-)
Now that Miss Princess is 6 months, you can start planning for the big ONE hee hee. I guess she will have a princess theme!

Hi Neely and everyone!

I am good.  How about you all?

We are waiting for our travel approval to bring our son home from China!  Should be going to China early June.

Here's the link to our son's blog if you would like to see him.  :)  I'm hoping to be able to update it while we are in China.

http://ourlittlemonkeymakes2.blogspot.com/

We've been fundraising like crazy to get the rest of the funds needed for this adoption.  We had a yard sale this weekend and did pretty good.  Still need to do more.  Working on some ideas on how to raise the funds.  I even sold our Wii and a video camera through our blog.  We will be selling our vehicle too.  We have a spare one we can use in the meantime.

Well I hope all is well with everyone and hope to hear from you.

Blessings-

Cathy
