ANY SUGGESTIONS?
The baby is not here yet but in 7 weeks, she will be here...my cats are constantly jumping in the crib so we got a canopy/tent to put over the crib...guess what, now it's a trampoline to them! Any suggestions on how to get the cats from jumping on the crib? Getting them use to the baby? Let me know! By the way, check out my profile and you can see the darling cats-Miea and Midi

I wasn't worried about our cats until Lucy was born, now it makes me really nervous. I haven't found a way to keep them out of her crib yet, although I'm considering the possibility of putting a screen door on her bedroom so they can't go in at all. But if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears too!

Usually cats know how to behave around kids and they are very gentle.
I got my cats when my kids were 3 years old, they sleep at the foot of their beds most of the nights.
However, because your child is still a baby if you don't feel comfortable about the cat wonder freely you should not give access to your child room, at least when she sleeps.

My cats did the same thing, in the weeks before our daughter arrived. I just learned to keep the door shut, shoo them out of the crib/changing table/bassinet ,and I placed soft blankets in other spots around the house. Mine are very attracted to those micro-fleece and flannel soft blankets that we got tons of at the baby showers. They loved when I put one inside one of the closets.
After the baby arrived they were super curious, though a little afraid at first. After a few weeks they got used to her being around, and I had to make sure they didn't try to snuggle with her during naptime. believe me, they tried! I just had to watch them when she was really little.
She's 8.5 months now, and weighs 2-3 times what they weigh. I'm alot less worried now, my main concern if they sneak in her room is that they might wake her!
My cats (the siamese especially) were my babies before my Baby came, and I think they feel a little left out sometimes, but when baby sleeps, I give the cats more attention.
They have learned that where the baby is, the Mommy is -- so often they follow us around the house as we go about our day, and they get attention from both of us while we have playtime.
