cookie exchanges
How many of you have volunteered to participate in a cookie exchange, and it really sounded like a good idea when you said yes, but when it actually came time to do it, it became more of a pain than expected? I ran out of ingredients, so I need to get more tomorrow. Also, the cookies I did make don't look like they should... they do taste good, so I guess that't a positive.

I am an organizer for a group and we do all kind of exchanges. Cookie, pie, cupcake/cake, toy, bath & body, candle. We have yet to have any problems with them and I find that my members really enjoy themselves.

I have never even heard of that.Do you and another person exchange the actual cookies or just the recipe?I have heard of exchanging those?I have to admit;Im too paranoid to exchange food from others because of cleanliness reasons.

I have done a cookie exchange maybe once...but I agree with the fact that you dont really know how clean other people REALLY are. But i do do an ornament exchange with my close girlfriends. We each buy one ornament and when we all get there we number each wrapped ornament. Then we put numbers in a bowl and each pick one number and that is the ornament we get. We put an approx. spending amount on the game...and we all know not to get just any random ornament they are always really nice. It is a fun way to get the girls together and this way we dont have to buy for everyone since we all have kids we have to buy for.

At a church I use to go to in Tx every Christmas wed have a gift exchange/craft wed make ourselves or buy.I tell you the 2 things we fought over the most was a birdhouse I painted and a child in the manger circlet that my deceased older best friend had painted.I miss that now so much.the first person to pick was the last 1 to repick and exchanged. We had soooo much fun.

Okay, I have to admit, the cookie exchange went well. After I got done stressin' about making them, I was okay. There was about eight of us who exchanged cookies, so now I have a plate fulll of different kinds. I had never exchanged before, so I didn't know what to expect. The end result was positive.

My friend used to do an ornament exchange and when she told me about it, I thought it was pretty cool.
