GIVE ME YOUR FEELINGS,THOUGHTS....
Tell me about your feelings, thoughts, emotions with having a child later in life. I know myself with having a 16 year old and now expecting,it's very different...different equipment for the baby, alot more tired, can be very emotional and somethings,I actually forget about childbirth. My daughter has been number 1 for 16 years so she is going through somethings right now and dealing with that can be very emotional and tiring too. Let me know your thoughts!

Hi, again, Mary,

I hope you're doing well as you get closer to having your new baby. I was 36 when I had my daughter, Danielle, and I remember encountering positive thoughts about it from people for the most part. As I have said before, I'm very glad it worked out this way.

My childbirth wasn't quite as I expected. I was a little more than a week overdue when I went into the hospital to have labor induced. As the contractions got going, Danielle's heartbeat would slow down, and eventually the cord started wrapping around her neck. I had an epidural, but it didn't seem to do much of anything. So when it was ultimately decided that a C-section would have to be done to get her out, I was asked if I wanted to go to sleep. Of course, I jumped at the chance. That's the only thing I'm sorry about now is that I didn't actually see her come into the world. Being put under also meant that my boyfriend couldn't come into the room with me, which I also regret, but like I said, I just couldn't say no to being put under at the time. When I was woken up, my boyfriend and his older daughter came in and told me she was 6 pounds, 11 ounces. I was kind of groggy still when they stopped by the nursery and one of the nurses held her up to the window for me to see. One of my favorite times in the hospital was taking my walks up and down the hallway with Danielle in the little bed on wheels, when we would go for "our walks." I remember I was told that my job was to pound the pavement, and did I ever! :)) Anyhow, she's 2 now and my little baby is gone... well, not completely. :)) Again, I wish you all the best, and hats off to you, and to all of us.
