eating solids
My 8 month old started eating solids around 5 months. He was up to eating cereal and fruits/veggies 3 times a day. About 3 weeks ago, he came down with a cold and stopped eating solids. He still drinks his formula (35- 40 ozs per day) My doctor wasn't worried at the time he had his cold, but now he seems better and is still not eating more than one or two bites of solids. After that, his mouth stays forever closed! Should I be concerned?

No, my son did the same thing it took about 2 weeks after the cold was over for him to start eating. If it keeps up after about 3 weeks or so then I would talk to a dr but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Its kinda like when we are sick we just don't feel like eating even though he may be acting better he may still not be 100% better :)

Thanks. I'll think I'll wait one more week and see what happens. I'll still try to feed him solids each day and see what happens. Of course, now that he's not eating solids, he back to getting up a 2a.m.!

LOL yeah I am sure he is. Both my kids still do that if they have not been feeling well. I am sure he will come around soon :)

I wouldn't worry either. At this stage of the game for him, eating solids is more of a "practice" thing than a nourishment thing so as long as he's drinkingh is formula then just keep offering him solids and eventually he'll eat them again. Just wait until he becomes a toddler--the food battles have only just begun girl! :)
