hi, just got a slr d40x, love it. I dont know much about the technical side of cameras but am having fun with it. Any tips you'd like to share would be great.

Gee, my first tip would be to find a camera you love, but it seems you already have that taken care of. After that, you just have to shoot shoot shoot until you start to like what you see.

A great book for learning photography is "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. I don't think there's one single book that helped me more. It's written so well even a dolt like me can understand. ;)
