My friend and her fussy baby

OMG!!! I have a friend who has a one year old. Every time i see him he is always fussy and tired. She old me that he still sleeps with her and wakes up atleast 3 times a night. She is very depressed and doesnt know what to do. I am going to start watching him atleast 5 days a week but not on a steady scheduale. What should i do. I am going into this with water over my head. I know it. HELP
