NO SLEEP!!
I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem...my daughter started sleeping so great once she was about 3 months old. She was sleeping 8 hours at a time fairily consistently. Then, all of a sudden, it stopped and now she's up almost every 3 hours at night. She's sleeping worse than she did when she was 1 month old and needed to nurse every 2-3 hours! It's driving me crazy--night after night of no sleep is really starting to kill me. I have read a few books that have good suggestions, and I do sometimes see improvement, but I feel so hopeless and at a loss for what to do right now. I sometimes feel like such a failure because I can't get this little 15 pound thing to sleep and she's totally controlling my days (and nights!!) Help me First Time Mom friends!!

I wish I could help.

My son is now 3months old. He is fairly consistent but has only ever slept 5 hours in a row.

I notice that he wakes up more often in the night if he is gassy or has had a bad day. The more naps he gets in the day, the better he sleeps at night.

I've heard people say babies sleeping habits change when they have growth spurts..these are hard to see...I mean..what is there to see to know if this is the reason.

Do you have any rituals before you put her down, or does she just fall asleep in your arms. Maybe you can start or change a ritual...good luck...I wish I knew the answer.

We do have a bedtime ritual that we stick to every night. We started putting her to bed earlier because I think we were keeping her up too late. However, by the time we get to the feeding part of our routine she's so exhaused that she falls asleep while she's eating. She's a terrible napper and will only do 45 minutes at a time on a really good day. She has random 2 hour naps on different days but then it's back to 25-30 minutes. I try putting her to bed when she's sleepy and not fully asleep but I haven't had any luck with that yet. She was sleeping so awsome...now she stinks at it. :( Thank you so much for your advice--I love hearing from other people!

My only suggestion is to stick to the routine. My son didn't start to sleep through the night until he was 9 months old. It is hard to function on little sleep. I hope it get better for you :)

I hope things have gotten better for you in the sleep department, but if they havent I have a few questions. Are these 25-30 minute naps throughout the day? Or is she just napping once or twice during the day? how are her eating habits? Is she a gassy baby? and last but not least does she seearch for you and cry for attention durig the day.....

I am trying to remember each of your questions so I can respond. She takes 3 naps during the day; one mid-morning, one early afternoon and one early eveing. She has a little routine with a few stories and then she lays down and she usually falls asleep really quickly. I try to listen for her to get her back to sleep after 20 minutes but sometimes I don't catch her in time. On a few rare occasions she has slept for an hour during one naptime but I can't figure out what I did differently. She eats every 3 hours during the day and seems to be doing fine with that. Sometimes I try to squeeze in an extra feeding to make sure she isn't trying to make up for missed calories at night. During the day she does pretty well when I put her by herself and I take a shower or do the dishes. After a while she will start to get bored and call out for me but she does pretty well by herself for 20 minutes at a time. I am so darn tired...for a little while after I posted that message she started sleeping 6 hours at a time but now she's back to going to sleep at 7:45 or 8:00 and waking around midnight, three, six and then finally seven thirty. She's just driving me nuts!!!!! Good thing she's so darn cute. :)
