Almost 2
My son is going through this major temperment change over the last 2 weeks. He turns 2 in a week and has been pretty mild mannered and typically a happy kid, but he has recently starting crying over EVERYTHING that doesn't go his way and getting upset at the drop of a hat. He did great when my daughter was born (now 4months) and I'm wondering if this is the "terrible twos" or just reacting late to a new sister. Anybody have a similar experience?

My son is 18 months, and I've noticed that he is getting more demanding, and using yelling as a technique to get his way. It's really hard, because if you don't give him what he wants, he continues to yell, often louder. But if you give him what he wants, although it stops the awful yelling, it rewards his bad behaviour. I think it's their age. Not sure how to tackle the problem. I found a book called "How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk" by Adele Faber, which sounds like it might be useful (I've only just started reading it). Would be interested to hear other people's thoughts

Sarah is almost 23 months and it is typical for at least every other day to be "one of those days." She has always been great except for the last few months. I think it is teething because she is cutting her eye teeth, but I know whta you mean.

ugh, my 2 year old isn't doing that, but my 4 year old IS. i send him to his room to have a fit. we all need fits, it's just when and where you do it. and if he's whining or yelling something, the answer is NO. even if it gets worse. over the past month he's started getting the hint. i've also started watching MY behavior when i'm not getting my way. the less i yell, the less they yell.

i think part of it is developmental, but it sure is frustrating!
