Hello ladies. I just went through all of those stories of why you are single parents, with a tissue to my face! I just want to say you all are amazing and under appreciated! I don't know how you do it. You all sound like such strong, empowered women. In every way, being a single mother is a demanding job, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It's a more dedicated kind of parenthood that you can only relate to if you've been there. I am so happy to see such responsible single mothers and you all are such truly beautiful people. If you feel empowered to, take time to tell us all how being a single mother has bettered your life. Sieze the gift that is every day and truly appreciate who you are. |

Lisa, are you just looking to hear from single mothers? How about us single dads who also have taken on the challenge of solo parenting? When my then-wife chose a boyfriend over her family two years ago and subsequently filed for divorce, it marked the biggest-ever upheaval in my life and the lives of my two young children. I have joint physical custody with my ex and the hardest part is being forcibly separated from my children every other week. It feels completely unnatural and wrong, but I know that these are the cards I've been dealt. My primary goal in life is to be the best daddy possible for my two wonderful daughters. But whether you are a single mom or a single dad, it's certainly not easy to balance single parenting with a full time job and other responsibilities. |

Lets see........your question is very interesting. I think that being a single mommy, has not only improved who I am as a person, but also as a friend, daughter, sister, etc. I say that because I believe my son has brought out the best in me, at every level, both personal and professional. I'm not saying that it isn't challenging to be alone.....BECAUSE IT IS.....but it is also amazing to see how such a small person, can have such a great impact in your life. I am dedicated to my son 100% and I am glad that I'm a single mom, because it has made me appreciate the little things, like a smile, or a soft stroke on my cheek.
I know that difficult times will come, especially when my son asks me....where's my daddy?....how will I look into his gorgeous eyes and say....he didn't want us honey. I know I won't tell him that, but what will I tell him. Being a single mom although challenging is one of the most fulfilling jobs that I have ever had, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
TO YOU SINGLE MOMS AND DADS.....GOD BLESS YOU.
