How early was your child?
Mine were born at 35 weeks and everybody was saying that it was pretty good for twins, but in reality so many think can go wrong because everyday gestation really counts.

Nicholas was born at 27 weeks 3 days. My twins were at 35 weeks (which is very normal) I have a lot of friends with twins and triplets and I think the longest anyone went was 37 weeks.

My son was born at 32.5 weeks (7.5 weeks early). He is doing very well despite his reflux.

My son was born at 32.5 weeks. He spent 2 weeks in the NICU and came home without oxygen or any monitors. He is doing very well despite his reflux. We actually have an appt with a gastroenterologist next Monday (he grunts all the time and cries while feeding).

Sarah was born at 30 weeks and was in the NICU for 4 weeks. She was on oxygen for 7 days and under the billirubin (sp?) lights off and on most of her time in the NICU. She went home weighing 4lbs 6oz without oxygen or monitors. She is now 22 months at weighs about 22 lbs. She's doing great!

My twins were only in the NICU 1 week. They came home without problems. Nicholas was born at 27 weeks and was in the hospital for 8 weeks. We have had to deal with eye issues with him, including outpatient surgery, and he now has to wear glasses

my twins were born 7.5 months early and spent 3 long weeks in the NICU. I had severe preaclampsia and went into labor to discover my son was transverse breech and had an emergency csection.

Jeffrey was 9 weeks and 2 days early.
I'm grateful that he did so well in NICU despite a very rough first 3 days.
He was feisty and sweet from the very beginning and was the "favorite" of lots of the nurses. We just had his first birthday and one of his nurses came to celebrate with us!

DID ANY OF YOUR CHILDREN DEVELOP NEC?

No NEC over here.Wow. 8 months in the NICU must have been really hard!!

My son was born 6 weeks early but only weighed 2 lbs 7 ozs (size of a 28 week gest.) He was in the NICU for 4 weeks (longest 4 weeks of my life). He was never on any oxygen or monitors only those to keep him warm and his vitals. We mostly battled him learning to drink from a bottle and hold his temp. He came home weighing only 3 lbs 9 ozs. He is now 4 years old and the only problems we have is his weight. He only weighs 25 pounds. I personally think that comes from his daddy because his daddy was also a tall skinny dude. GOD is SO GOOD!!!

WHAT STAGE OF NEC? DID HE NEED A COLOSTOMY, OR INFECTIONS. UNFORTUNATELY, MY SON HAD THE 5% CHANCE OF SURVIVAL ... THATS WHAT THEY SAID, .

The NEC caused some restrictions so they had to do surgery to fix them. After almost three months we were finally home!

My daughter was born at 33 weeks, and had no real problems save mild apnea for a week or two. She never learned to latch on (apparently, it's one of the last things to develop), but with pumping, she still had (supplemented) breast milk, and today is a healthy preschooler.
