I used the internet to think of new things to do with my first. Here are 2 links with some "stimulating" ideas. http://www.ehow.com/how_6456_stimulate-7-month.html

Right now, my 2 year old and I play "bowling" about 5 times a day with a soccer ball and 5 empty water bottles. I wouldn't think that was fun before I saw it online. Josh loves it. He counts them, works at setting them up right, then of course loves knocking them down all a once, so he gets to cheer for himself and I make a big deal, too. Hope that helps.

Hello, to get out of the house and about I started taking my daughter to the library at 6 months for story time. She got to interact with other children and I got to meet some other moms, they even did baby sign language, and it was free. Check your local library or Rec center they may have activities.

I sometimes wonder what to do with my son who is 2 1/2. That bowling idea sounds like a lot of fun so I might try that! One thing I always did with my son since he was a newborn and I still do, and also do with his little brother (2 months) is to dance!! We put on a cd, I mostly choose salsa, and I hold the newborn. My sons and I have our own little party in my living room. My 2 yr old loves it and I know the baby enjoys it too!

Hi Nicki. My daughter just turned 7 months. Some activities she enjoys are, bubbles, blocks & balls. She loves to pop the bubbles as I blow them, knock the bocks over and roll a ball back and forth. Sometimes we set up the table leaf and roll the balls down that, or use it as a slide. Tupper wear is always fun too! She likes putting smaller containers into larger ones and of course putting everything into her mouth! Sometimes I will put her in the big laundry basket with a rope attached to it, and gently pull her around the house! (This also helps improve her balance) We walk through the house turning the lights on and off, she likes to do the switch herself and we open and close all the doors! She is fascinated with this, mostly the entertainment center ones :) Just remember everything can be a learning experience. Have fun!

Hi Nicki,
I filled water bottles with rice, cereal, coffee beans etc. and super glued the lids on. My son has played with them for months. He likes to shake them like rattles and now can pick them out by what is in them. For example, bring Mommy the coffee. You can use dried peas, beans, buttons, etc. He really liked the buttons when he was young. All the different shapes and colors gave him something to look at.
