Get to know each other
So I just thought we learn about everyone.

Name?

Where do you live?

How many kids?

How long have you and husband been together?

What kind of shift does he work?

How you handle his work?

My name is Kalla

I live in Plano, IL (its really small)

I have a 3 month old son named Caidan

My husband and I have been together for a little over a year (we like to do things fast :))

My husband works 24 on 48 off and then sometimes will do a 36 on 36 off.

I don't handle his work. I love that my husband does what he does he was born to be a firefighter and paramedic but it cuts into a lot of our time together too. See not only is he a firefighter and paramedic but he is also the EMS Coordinator and a Captain of a station (which means he runs the whole station and is in charge of everything that goes on there). He never has time off he is always stressed about work. So it is very frustrating for me.

My name is Cheryl I have an 18 month old son named Jack. My husband has been a firefighter/paramedic for 14 years, he is also a captain. We have been together for 10 years and married for 5. His hours are 24 on 24 off, 24 on, 24off, 24on and then 4 days off and he will then start the rotation over again. He is also going back to school to get his masters degree. I have learned to like his shifts. I don't always like being alone at night but you get used to it. We also have a dog and that helps. Things are a lot less stressful for me when he is not at home. When he is not home I have a lot more one on one with my son and alot more time to myself to do the things I like to do. Don't get me wrong I love spending time with my husband but absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. We live in VA with our 5 month old daughter Renae. James and I have been married 2 years. I love the fact that my husband is a full time firefighter/emt. Currently he is on day shift (6am-6pm). For our family that means he wakes up at 3:30 am gets ready for work then doesn't get home until 7pm. Renae is usually in bed by 7 so that means she doesn't get to see Daddy on the days he work a lot of the time. I also know that he has to get up early so I feel like I don't want to wake him up at night to help me with Renae on the days he has to work. We are very proud of him, but it makes for a very sleepy me.

Hi my name is Jennifer Duvall.
We live in Newnan, GA
We have 3 little boys, Austin who is 4, Clay who is 3, and Hayden who is 16 months.
We have been together 11 years and married 3 of those years.
My husband, Jimmy, works 24 on 24 off.
It's life. Simple as that. I understand that this is how he serves the lord and himself. I hate being a single mom at least 1/3 of the year, but at the same time i enjoy having him gone for 24 hours. I work 3 full days a week so our time is spent w/ the boys and ourselves when ever we can fit it in. We really don't know anyother life.
